2023-2024 Academic Year International Students Application Guide
Considering the base points determined based on the program, the placement process within the scope of International Students is primarily done with the TR-YÖS score of the candidates by the Foreign Student Admission and Evaluation Commission within the framework of the Admission and Registration Directive for International Students to Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs of Tarsus University. In case there is a vacant quota left, the exams (Abitur, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi, SAT etc.) recommended and approved by the Council of Higher Education to be used in international student admission are considered. In case vacant quotas reoccur, it is done according to the YÖS score made by other higher education institutions determined by the Commission. If there are still vacant quotas, placement procedures could be made according to the secondary education diploma grade with the approval of the Commission.
  • Candidates Whose Applications Will Be Accepted
a) Provided that they are in their final year of high school or have graduated;

1) Foreign citizens, (those who have registered before the 2022-2023 academic year in secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye,(except for foreign citizens who enrolled in Embassy schools, international private educational institutions listed in the MOBIS system, and those who were brought to our country within the framework of projects carried out by the Ministry of National Education)])

2) Candidates who were born as Turkish citizens but have renounced their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission from the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and those who have proof of being holders of the blue card given to those who have lost their Turkish citizenship upon their request (Please refer to Article 7 of the Law on Turkish Citizenship numbered 5901, which states, "(1) The child born in wedlock to a Turkish citizen mother or father, either within or outside Türkiye, is a Turkish citizen." Candidates applying for the international admission quotas are advised to review the Law on Turkish Citizenship.),

3) Candidates who acquired Turkish citizenship through naturalization while being a foreign national and for dual citizens in this situation,

*4) a)Turkish citizens who have been attending secondary education (high school) abroad before 01/02/2013, completed the last three years of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country excluding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) (including those who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened by the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country), can apply for international student admission quotas."

b)Candidates who started secondary education abroad after 01/02/2013 can apply for international admission quotas if they completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country excluding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (including those who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened by the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country),

5)Candidates who are citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, residing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and have completed their secondary education (high school) in the TRNC with GCEAL exam results, as well as those who enrolled and received education in other countries' colleges and high schools between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCEAL exam results, will be accepted.

  • Candidates Whose Applications Will Not Be Accepted;

Applications of those who;

1) are nationals of the Republic of Türkiye and have completed all of their secondary education (high school) in Türkiye or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC),

2) are TRNC nationals (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have General Certificate of Education-Advanced Level (GCE-AL) results, and those who have or will have GCE-AL exam results by enrolling and studying at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010),

*3) are dual citizens, whose first nationality is the Republic of Türkiye by birth, as defined in clause 2 of article a. (except for those who meet the conditions in clause 4 of article a)

4) are dual citizens and have TRNC as one of their nationalities (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have GCE-AL results, and those who have or will have GCE-AL exam results by enrolling at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010)

5)are Turkish citizens studying at schools affiliated with the embassies in Türkiye and foreign high schools in Türkiye, or dual citizens whose first nationality is the Republic of Türkiye by birth as defined in clause 2 of article a,

6)are TRNC citizens who will enroll at secondary education institutions in Türkiye as of the 2022-2023 academic year, those who have renounced their Turkish citizenship/Blue Card holders and foreign nationals (except for embassy schools, international private education institutions in the MOBIS system and foreign nationals brought to our country within the framework of the project carried out by the Ministry of National Education) will not be accepted.

  • Applıcatıon Procedures

Applications to our university will be received electronically. Applications received in person or by post will not be considered. All application documents uploaded to the system must be approved by the Turkish Representatives or relevant institutions and organizations for applications made electronically. Approvals made in translation offices will not be considered. If any of these documents are missing or contain incorrect information, the candidate's application will be declared null and void.

Application Documents;

a) For candidates who have completed their secondary education outside the Republic of Türkiye, the equivalency certificate to be obtained from the provincial national education directorates in Türkiye or from the education consultancy/attachment offices abroad,

b) A copy of the original high school diploma approved by the notary public or the Embassy / Consulate of the Republic of Türkiye, (Candidates who are in the last year of high school will bring a certified document confirming that they can graduate.),

c) ) A copy of the original transcript / transcript, translated into Turkish approved by a notary public or the Embassy / Consulate of the Republic of Türkiye,

ç) ) Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate (if any),

d) Turkish Proficiency Certificate (if any),

e) Original passport or identity card obtained from official authorities,

f) A document of general health insurance,

g) 3 photos,

ğ) The original of the GCE AL exam result document of the TRNC national candidates who have completed their entire secondary education in TRNC high schools,

h) Other specific documents from departments and faculties during the final enrollment (if any),

  • Placement Procedures

  • Evaluation Process

Evaluation of the applications of the candidates is made within the framework of Article 9 of the Principles Regarding the Admission of Foreign Students to Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs of our University. click here

  • Letter Of Acceptance

Candidates whose applications have been accepted will be able to obtain their acceptance letters through the online application system. Relevant institutions and organizations will be able to confirm the accuracy of acceptance letters through YÖKSİS.

  • Final Registration Procedures

During the final registration process, the originals of the documents uploaded to the online application system will be requested from the candidates. Candidates who do not submit the originals of the documents will not be registered.

  • Turkish Language Proficiency and Preparation Training

Turkish language proficiency of candidates is evaluated according to the Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate given by the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center of Tarsus University and Yunus Emre Institute, the Turkish education certificate given by the Embassies of the Republic of Türkiye or the documents they receive from the Turkish Teaching Centers affiliated with the Universities of the Republic of Türkiye. The Turkish language of the candidates who completed their secondary education in Turkish high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education is considered sufficient. Students who do not have a Turkish proficiency certificate, who fail the Turkish Proficiency and Placement Exam to be held by our university, or who do not attend the exam, have to take Turkish preparatory education.
